30/50 is already easy to get. Got it on a account without spending ingame money or spend a lot of time.
This part of update is just to make pre much more fun. fighting high level mobs with your starter armor(collector armor is a bit better) will be a lot of fun... i hope.

I'm extremely excited about this. My pre character is my second oldest, and now he'll finally get his title and move on in the world!
Having a title only be obtainable by abuse was always just terrible. This needed to happen.

Considering that the title only came after someone had figured out a way to level to 20.. It should have been "I was Bored and So" title.
Its never been more than a very dedicated unintended use of a game mechanic.
As Stumme said.. now it will come by playing the game.
That is a good thing.

OK for death levelling u did have to leave your char on dying but you still had to set up the death level and most of the time you would dc during the night. Yes, the title was a pain to do and that’s why relatively few people did it. But the new title is just that – a new title – it wont mean the same as the old one and should at least have a different name.

I agree, this is how it should have been from the start. But it wasn’t, and they have resisted changing it until now. Why? Because more titles (more full HoM's) means more GW2 sales.
And yes I will be rolling a new char for this too :P

In all seriousness, LDoA is a real electricity burner right now and it's probably a good thing that it will change. John Strumme said that it won't completely devalue LDoA so I think the XP rewards might be a bit stingy or something.

about 15:22 in the video "Takes an image of a character as it exists right then..."
Does this mean the mercenary hero cannot be changed at all once it is made? If so, then that might suck majorly. You would have to buy a new slot when skill changes happened.

They should at least change the title name when they change a title so much.

LOL. Pardon me, but saying LDoA is hard is akin to saying the Drunkard Title is hard. It's time consuming, not hard.
This is really great news! Mr. Stumme's regime is really taking the bull by the horns and doing some fantastic things.

*LordDragon i'm pretty sure you can delete/recopy the "image" you just made of your self. I think your just playing for how many "images" of your self/character you can buy at a time and place as a merc-hero.

So is now the time to make a push for a Xunlai Chest in Pre, sporting just one panel?
I'm curious to find out more about the mercenaries....whether character weapons in hand will apply to each mercenary. Definitely a cool, but not needed function.
Im sure lots of people will be upset considering you have to pay for it, but yet theres been plenty of in-game money and time spent on upgrading existing hero's. In many mind-sets, it might not be worth throwing all that money and time to the side for mercenaries.
I always like options that you don't have to pay to make things easier, but can make your particular gaming experience more exciting.
Lets take one moment to remember, that these micro transactions help Anet progress with GW1 and GW2. I certainly dont mind helping out with that considering going on 6 years worth of no subs.

LDoA and Drunkard are the two most annoying titles that I can think of right now. It is not that they are hard to achieve, they are just annoyingly tedious and boring.
When the game goes into the "annoyingly tedious boring mechanical do-this-same-boring-task-for-the-next-1000000000-times" mode of playing (aka super grind), is what makes people want to quit playing, except for those with too much time on their hands and dont have a life.
